About the event
On August 14th at 6pm, history enthusiasts and curious individuals are invited to join the Walk and Talk tour, a unique walking tour that will take participants on a journey through the rich history of Ogdensburg. Led by City Historian Julie Madlin, the tour will focus on the homes, buildings, and prominent people who once lived on Caroline St.
The Walk and Talk tour is a great opportunity for locals and visitors alike to learn about the fascinating history of Ogdensburg. Participants will meet on the steps of the Ogdensburg Public Library before 6pm, where they will be greeted by Madlin. The tour will last approximately one hour and will cover a distance of about one mile.
The tour will highlight the stories and legacies of the people who once called Caroline St. their home, as well as the architectural significance of the buildings that still stand today.
The Walk and Talk tour is not only a great opportunity to learn about the history of Ogdensburg, but it also serves as a fundraiser for the Ogdensburg History Museum. A suggested donation of $5.00 will go towards supporting the museum's efforts to preserve and share the city's history.
This unique walking tour would not be possible without the generous support of the Northern New York Community Foundation and the Sweetgrass Foundation. Their contributions have made it possible for signs that allow self-guided tours with QR codes.
Don't miss this chance to discover the hidden gems and untold stories of Ogdensburg's past. Join us on August 14th at 6pm for the Walk and Talk tour. For more information, please contact the Ogdensburg History Museum at (315) 528–0733.
