About the event

The Ogdensburg History Museum, the Ogdensburg Public Library, and the Fort la Présentation Association are proud to announce the next installment of their collaborative "Revolutionary Roots" series. The community is invited to "Libertea," a colonial-themed social event held at the Ogdensburg Public Library, 312 Washington Street, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.

“Libertea” offers a unique way to celebrate Valentine’s Day by stepping back in time to explore the social customs of early America. Attendees will learn how people entertained themselves during the colonial era through hands-on demonstrations of historic games, including Shut the Box, Nine Man Morris, and Farkle.

The event will also feature a short presentation by City Historian Julie Madlin, who will discuss the nuances of colonial social events and community gatherings.
